Kingston Police in partnership with London Police, and with the assistance of the OPP, Toronto and Durham Police have made an arrest in connection with the October 2021 murders of Nico Soubliere and Carl Anne Delphin. From video footage during the investigation, Kingston police identified the suspect as Gregory Anthony Beasely. Police arrested Beasely in Toronto on August 17th. He has been charged with two counts of first degree murder, with additional firearm related charges.

 

Kingston Fire & Rescue are reminding residents to make sure smoking materials are fully extinguished in a non combustible container, after a fire at Uxbridge Crescent home caused major damage over the weekend. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined, Kingston Fire & Rescue suspect smoking materials were present. All residents escaped and were not hurt, damage is estimated at over 300 thousand dollars.

 

Kingston Economic Development has received a 280 thousand dollar grant from the Digital Main Street initiative for a two year Digital Service Squad program to support small business owners in digitally transforming their business. The Service Squad also assists the businesses in applying for the $2,500 Digital Transformation Grant. Applications for the grant are open until the end of October. The Squad offers digital marketing support at no cost to the business.
