Here’s your CFRC Daily News Brief for Thursday, November 19 2020!

In a news publication released by the City of Kingston, the city is continuing its efforts to make it easier to get around Kingston through active modes of transportation, a new multi-use pathway is being developed along the south side of Cataraqui Woods Drive between Sydenham Road and Centennial Drive. As the City finalizes the design for this project, it is inviting area residents, pedestrians and cyclists to suggest locations for rest areas along the pathway and get a better understanding of the project. Those interested in providing input on the rest areas are encouraged to visit the Get Involved page for the project. You can visit getinvolved.cityofkingston.ca to offer your input.

The City’s Department of Building Services is preparing to take over the process for administering sewage system inspections. While this service has been provided by KFL&A Public Health since 1998, responsibility for the process will shift to the City, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Required under part 8 of the Ontario Building Code, residents will be able to submit permit applications and request inspections directly through DASH, the City’s online Development and Services Hub.

Staff can also help applicants with any questions by phone, email or in person, at 1211 John Counter Blvd.

Residents who are planning to apply or schedule inspections before Jan. 1, 2021, can still do so through KFL&A Public Health.
